Studio Diaz-Alonso/Pita


surface populated with curly components
The cells here respond to changes in local intensities and variable thresholds by extending and twisting. In the beginning and end of the animation the cells are subdued because the attribute controlling their extension is very low, as this limit increases local variations are produced based on the distance from each cell to a locater.


extending component
This component was proliferated across a couple of reference surfaces that changed in curvature over time. The deformation of the cells and the surfaces respond to changes in local intensities. It was interesting to see the way that the cells responded to changes in the curvature of the reference surface, where the surface was curved the components tended to curl.

The aperture of these cells change in response to the distance from a locater.


testParticleBasedMesh
This animation was made by connecting attributes of a duplicated polygon to the perParticleAttributes of particle system. The radius and position of these particles was linked to the scale and position of the base geometry. The resulting polys were then booleaned and smoothed. I can see myself developing this as a mapping technique for the site
